Enjoy 3 days in the West Highlands, Loch Ness and Isle of Skye

Day 1

  • Rannoch Moor

What you will do…

Departing Edinburgh we will travel to Callander then on to the Highlands across Rannoch Moor which at approx. 50 square miles is one of the largest, boggiest moorlands in the UK.

As we descend through Glen Coe we will stop to take in the atmosphere of an area that witnessed the massacre of the MacDonalds in 1692. We will stop for lunch in Fort William.

Following lunch we will follow the Caledonian Canal up the Great Glen to Fort Augustus.  Here we will take a cruise on Loch Ness. Will you spot Nessie?

Afterwards taking in the breathtaking scenery you will drive the entire length of Loch Ness to Urquhart Castle.

Day 1 will end in Inverness where there are many hotels and eateries.


Isle of Skye

Day 2

  • Eilean Donan Castle
  • Isle of Skye
  • Ferry Crossing
  • Glenfinnan
  • Fort William


What you will do…

Departing Inverness we will head west and follow the famous railway route to Kyle of Lochalsh.

You will visit Eilean Donan Castle, reputedly the most photographed castle in the UK and then cross the bridge to the Isle of Skye and take a panoramic tour of the Isle stopping for lunch in the capital Portree.

You will depart Skye via the ferry from Armdale. On the ferry you will glimpse of the UK’s deepest lake, Loch Morar.

The next stop is the beautiful town of Glenfinnan with its lovely viaduct which famously features in the Harry Potter films.

Passing Neptunes Staircase we get the final & most spectacular view of the Caledonian Canal.

Day 2 will end in Fort William for dinner & overnight.



Day 3

  • Oban
  • Loch Awe
  • Kilchurn Castle
  • Inverary
  • Loch Fyne
  • Loch Lomond
  • Glasgow


What you will do…

The day starts with a scenic drive to the lively town of Oban.

We will then pass along a section of Loch Awe, Scotland’s longest loch stopping for a photo opportunity of the ruins of Kilchurn Castle. The next stop is the pretty town of Inveraray on Loch Fyne, where you can see Inveraray Castle.

Next we drive to the largest lake on the British mainland, the iconic Loch Lomond driving south along its bonnie banks before relaxing for the journey back to Edinburgh.
