Other Activities
Shooting and Fishing
Shooting and Fishing are synonymous with the lands of Scotland and arrangements can be made for Stalking on the local Kingairloch Estate. The stalking can be at any time through the season.
Sea Fishing on the west coast has had some very successful seasons and trips in local boats can be arranged to track down deep sea fish.
Alternatively if river and loch fishing is more in keeping then Inverawe Fisheries can offer equipment and tuition for the beginner or the opportunity to work the Beat on the River Awe, again providing the season and the water levels in the river permit.
Cricket at Eriska
No country house hotel would be complete without the croquet lawn before it. Mallets, Balls and even the rules are available.
Water Activities
The west highlands are best seen from the sea and arrangements can be made for sailing trips in luxury yachts or alternatively cocktails watching the sun going down on one of the local motor vessels.
They can offer their guests pick-ups and drop offs from their very own Pier.
You can also manage to go on kayaking trips leaving from and returning to Eriska throughout the year.
Multi-purpose Sports Hall
Following much anticipation, a Multi-purpose Sports Hall is now open, including tennis, table tennis, badminton, 5-a-side football and bowls!
You can benefit from complimentary access to the sports hall for one hour sports sessions 7 days a week with sports equipment which can be hired.
Walking around the island – for those simply wishing to wander
It is easy to simply walk till you meet the sea, turn left or right and when you reach the bridge or the Pier simply head back to the main house.
Alternatively pick up a map of the island and guide yourself around using the white posts which mark the trails and stop off at the information points to learn about the flora, fauna and wildlife as you explore Eriska. It is surrounded with magnificent mountains with several munros within sight of the front door.
Alternatively if you are looking for leisurely strolls there are plentiful walks within a short distance of Eriska whether it be the circular walk round the Island of Kerrera or the energetic climb up Ben Cruachan the hotel can offer guidance, maps and even a GPS to insure you are fully equipped.
