Unlock
The word ‘unlock’ on its own is perhaps most famously heard in the British Parliament once a vote of the MP’s has been announced and MPs can then leave the Commons Chamber
It got me thinking (perhaps I have too much time on my hands) that this is the clarion call to which we should all aspire and indeed to look forward to hearing announced loudly ‘Unlock, Unlock’ and we will be out of our starting blocks, onwards and upwards with the mantle of hesitation falling from our shoulders now that the road map has been published by the UK Government
At All Points North we, like so many are gearing up for this brave new world.
Until that day comes – we should all be getting ourselves the equivalent of beach ready, toned up and in the starting block ready to go.
Face to face – actual events and meetings will step by step return. Slowly we shall see people traveling again however it will be different than it was before. But we will adapt and have a new normal just like everyone did after 9/11 twenty years ago
The desire to travel and experience will win the day and before we know it, we will be back out there doing what we do best and not just talking about it
Reacquainting ourselves with the people and places that we have not been able to meet face to face or visit in person for the past year or even longer. Being able to do this will help us get our confidence back so we can fly high and be a success.
Finally, for this message, I am of a generation in the UK for which the following observation by the Hungarian born British writer George Mikas* which is supremely accurate.
“An Englishman, even if he is alone, forms an orderly queue of one”
