Asparagus & Seasonal Treats, 6.30pm to 9pm, £55
Asparagus is the queen of vegetables and May and June herald the short season of our favourite English asparagus. This class will feature asparagus alongside other delicious ingredients of late Spring and early Summer, such as broadbeans, fresh peas and sorrel. You will learn how best to prepare and cook asparagus in different ways
Easy Bread Making, 10am to 4.30pm, £160
Perfect your baking skills with our expert Chef Tutors who will teach you in a fun and relaxed way, all the basics to achieve a perfect loaf. Our bread day offers an introduction to bread making, one of the most satisfying cooking activities there is. There’s a certain magic in starting with a bowl of flour, yeast and water and ending up with a warm, sweet smelling loaf.
Middle Eastern Mezze, 10am to 4.30pm, £160
The cuisine of the Middle East is a delight for vegetarians: zesty bean dips and falafel, aromatic roasted vegetables with sumac, labna cheese, honey drenched sweets all using the best seasonal vegetables and herbs. This day will focus on the cuisines of Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, and Syria whose simple, fresh and healthy foods are a delight to make and eat throughout the year.

Vegan 5 Day Course, 9.30am to 4.30pm, £895
The course is suitable for those just beginning a vegan diet and for those who want to expand their vegan repertoire and immerse themselves in a fun and informative week long food experience. The Vegan foundation course will set you up with the fundamentals of vegan cooking, covering basic nutritional information, tailored for vegans and for those who want to reduce the amount of dairy and eggs in their diets.
Spanish Andalucian Tapas, 10am to 4.30pm, £160
Andalucia, the most southerly state of Spain is as large as England and is one of my favourite regions of Spain. With its Moorish influence and abundant natural produce makes Andalucían cuisine some of the most delicious in Europe.
Fresh Pasta Class with Ottavia, 10am to 4.30pm, £160
In this class Ottavia will explain the differences between various types of fresh pasta and will teach you how to make basic egg pasta, naturally coloured pasta and aromatic pasta. You will also learn how to create different shapes of both flat and filled pasta, how to cook it to perfection and how to associate the right sauces to the various shapes.
Indian Street Food, 6.30pm to 9pm, £55
Eating Indian Street food is the best way to eat in India, watching the food cooked in front of you and then eating from a cone of paper as you wander through the street market at dusk. Here in Bath we will recreate our favourites, giving you a whirlwind tour of regional Indian street food.
Fast & Delicious Half Day, 10am to 1pm, £80
The Fast and Delicious half day workshop is perfect If you have a busy life and can’t fit in a full day’s cookery class, but still want skills and tips to speed up your cooking. The workshop runs from 10am-1pm, ideal for the school run or shopping in Bath. we will make dishes which take around thirty minutes to prepare and cook, saving you time and effort in the kitchen.
Gluten-Free and Vegan Baking, 10am to 4.30pm, £160
This course is designed to take the mystery out of gluten free baking. The foods that are missed on a gluten free diet are mainly freshly baked bread and pastry. This course will show you how to put these delicious treats back into your daily life.
Anna Jones – A Modern Way to Cook, 10am to 4.30pm. £185
Come and join Anna Jones for an inspiring day in the kitchen, she will cook her favourite recipes from her beautiful second cookbook “A Modern Way to Cook”. Anna Jones is a cook, stylist and writer and worked with Jamie Oliver for 7 years.
Foraging Wild Plants: Collecting to Cooking, 9.30am to 4pm, £125
Spring is the start of the forager’s year and for many it’s their favourite season because of the variety of what’s available. Join forager Christopher Robbins on a spring forage near Bath, which will teach you how to identify the marvellous array of edible plants available this time of year. After a two-hour walk, we’ll take our bounty back to the cookery school where you’ll learn how to cook what you’ve collected and turn it into a delicious lunch.
Myanmar (Burmese) Teahouse Cooking, 6.30pm to 9pm, £55
Myanmar is sandwiched between better known culinary neighbours China, India and Thailand and you can find influences from them, Samosas and pakoras from India, stir-fried rice and noodles from China and green mango and papaya salads from Thailand. Balancing flavours with sour, spicy, bitter and salty is very important and is achieved by serving many small dishes each with a difference flavour balance. For lunch, the main meal of the day, you will be served soup, large quantity of white rice, a selection of curries, salads and condiments.
Mezze Evening Workshop, 6.30pm to 9pm, £55
Mezze is a term which refers to small dishes which are traditionally served across the Mediterranean and Middle East. The cuisine of the Middle East is a delight for vegetarians; zesty dips, aromatic roasted vegetables with sumac and spiced flatbreads, all using the best seasonal vegetables and herbs.
Moroccan and Southern Spanish, 10am to 4.30pm, £160
This course concentrates on Moroccan cooking and the Moorish influences in southern Spanish cooking. The food is a delight for vegetarians, and is simple and quick to make. You will learn all about the flavouring, herbs & spice mixes, learn knife skills, how to work with chillies to make firey harissa, how to use traditional ingredients such as Argan Oil & Saffron.
Fast & Delicious Spring, 10am to 4.30pm, £160
This is one of our most popular courses offering fast, seasonal and easy to make food. The dishes we cook will use the best of what’s in season, with an emphasis on local ingredients which we source from our suppliers Eades and Castle Farm, as well as wild food and produce from our own garden.
Asian Street Food, 10am to 4.30pm, £160
Asian Street food offers exciting and spicy flavours, quick cooking techniques and dishes that are perfect for summer parties but also great to serve as main meals with large plates of colourful salads.You will learn how to use coriander, lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, garlic, tamarind and chillies. How to whizz up fresh sambals, marinades & dips without the ubiquitous fish sauce. How to make tofu taste really delicious. We will also show you how to use ingredients such as green papaya, black rice and mung beans and where to source them

Newbridge Arts Trail
In Newbridge and Lower Weston, 50 artists and makers, at 25 venues, will open their doors to the public over the weekend of 7 and 8 May. Work ranges from painting and printmaking to illustration and photography, from sculpture and ceramics to contemporary jewellery and decoupage. Visitors can meet the artists, see their work, find out how it’s made and even buy or commission a piece of original work at an affordable price.
The trail covers a variety of locations across the area. As well as private homes and studios, there are group venues where artists exhibit together, including Bath Artists Studios, Fairfield House, Weston Methodist Church Hall, Frontier Picture Frames and Newbridge Primary School. A printed trail brochure, with map showing all locations, is available from local shops, businesses and Bath Library.
The event runs from 11.00 am to 6.00 pm on both days. It’s a great way to spend a day or the whole weekend – on your own, with friends or as a family. Whether you’re walking or driving, the route is manageable and refreshments are provided at pubs, cafés and some artist venues

Tractor Ted Big Machine Weekend
An action packed day with Tractor Ted! Over a million pounds worth of new farm machinery will be demonstrated and displayed to visitors at the Tractor Ted Big Machines Weekend.
This event is all about getting hands on and up close to big farm machinery! Add in Tractor and Trailer Rides around the Bowood Estate, including ‘Eye-Spy Farming’, have a bounce (or two) on the Tractor Ted Bouncy Castle, check out the Arena Displays, including the Dancing Digger with Digger Dave, spot a few Tractor Ted ‘celebs’ and don’t forget entry to Tractor Ted’s Little Farm itself!

Iford Arts Festival
The internationally renowned Iford Arts Festival takes place in the exquisite Peto Garden of Iford Manor, near Bath in the South West of England. The award-winning garden and its intimate and unique performance spaces combine to create a magical experience.
Captivating and intimate Opera performances are staged in-the-round for an audience of 90 in the miniature Italianate cloister and are all sung in English.
Popular and informal free flowing promenades together with seated cloister concerts complete the festival programme. All events offer a chance to relax over a pre-show picnic, whilst enjoying the peaceful tranquillity of the Peto Garden as the river Frome gently meanders through the Iford valley.

Queen’s Birthday Charity Picnic
2016 sees the Queen celebrate her 90th birthday. In celebration of this there will be many events held throughout the UK and commonwealth. The theme as stated by the Queen’s grandson Peter Phillips is Community, Charity and Celebration.
On Sunday 12th June a picnic will take place in Bath’s Parade Gardens. This event will be a ticketed event with live music and food on sale throughout the day. All ticket sale proceeds after expenses will go to local charities. All music and food sales will be provided by local artists and vendors.
Children’s entertainment will also be available throughout the day.
The day itself will run from 10.30 to 17.00 and tickets will cost £9 but be free for under 12s.

Children who bring their teddy bear will travel Free on this day!
‘When you go down to the station today your in for a big surprise.’ Children who bring a responsible Teddy Bears will travel FREE of charge on both the steam and diesel hauled trains. There will also be a number of other activities to keep the children amused, including (all subject to availability):
- balloon modelling
- punch and judy
- arts and crafts
- teddy bear hunt (with a small sweet for children that complete the hunt)
- picnic baskets also available from the buffet at £4.25 each (buy on day)
During the Teddy Bear’s Picnic event our station buffet will offering picnic boxes for sale which are ideal for both children and adults alike.
Children’s picnic boxes include a small filled roll, cuplet juice drink, Freddo chocolate bar, piece of fruit, packet of crips and a mini bear gift.
Adult’s picnic boxes include a large sandwich, cuplet juice drink, slice of cake, packet of crips and a piece of fruit. Prices £4.25.
Normal admission prices apply;

Bath Folk Festival
Bath Folk Festival is in its 7th year and has a fast growing reputation as one of the most exiting new festivals to emerge. Focused on getting everyone involved, there is a five day summer school and lots of informal sessions which we believe are the lifeblood of folk music.
We also have the new shoots competition in collaboration with Real World Studios where many up and coming acts compete to win a days recording with Real World. Every year we discover a wealth of immense talent.
There are many concerts from around the world and artists featured include Flook! Hungarian Band Fabula Rasa, Himmerland from Denmark, Crossharbour, RSVP Bhangra band, Steve Turner, Deuair,Inu, Ranagri, Mike Danvers Scott, Izzy burns Quartet Kadia and many more.

Great Bath Feast
Bath is a handsome city at any time of year but in autumn it positively glows. Great food and drink is just one of many reasons to visit this golden Georgian gem. This is a city that attracts ambitious young chefs, drawn not just by the beauty of the place and the countryside that surrounds it, but by the provenance of the south-west. Typically, chefs work hand in hand with their suppliers to create menus that are both seasonal and locally sourced.
So for October, expect game and big wines; warming root veg and pumpkin soup; traditional puddings like apple and blackberry crumble; hearty pasta dishes. From beautifully sweet figs and crisp apples to earthy wild mushrooms and full-flavoured lamb and beef, October boasts a bumper crop of seasonal ingredients. This is soul food, so celebrate October’s rich bounty and make it your Great Bath Feast.

For one night only, Bath’s Holburne Museum will be transformed into a Gin Palace for a gin tasting extravaganza in sumptuous surroundings. Learn more about the history of gin with a fascinating tasting of selected fine gins from the South West. Learn about how gin is made and its ‘therapeutic’ properties.
Blessed are the Cheesemakers
The Fine Cheese Company will be assembling the nation’s leading artisan cheesemakers in the unique setting that is Bath Abbey for a unique and slightly ‘pongy’ cheese festival called “Blessed are the Cheesemakers”. The festival will be in aid of Bath Abbey’s Footprint Appeal.
A deluge of artisan ewe, goat and cow’s cheese from across the South West will be on display for cheese lovers to discover.
Bubbling up a storm with Demuth’s
Demuth’s Vegetarian Cookery School, the UK’s leading vegetarian school, will be offering a packed programme including the chance to dive into the world of fermentation with Charlotte Pike, cook autumn fare with Riverford and sample some local vegan craft beers.
Take a walk with Christopher Robbins and learn how to forage for food in the unusual urban setting of Bath, a World Heritage City. Edible goodies will include foraging for sloe berries, blackberries and mushrooms. Andy Hamilton, author of Booze for Free, has been specially invited by Independent Spirit for a ‘Wild Booze Walk’ to explore where and how to successfully forage for booze on your very own doorstep.
Talks on a Plate with Topping & Company Booksellers
Other culinary celebrities include Anna Del Conte – the doyenne of authentic Italian cuisine – and Tom Kerridge whose Best Ever Dishes transports his cooking into the very home and heart of today’s modern kitchen. Tickets to culinary talks, courtesy of Bath independent bookstore Topping & Company Booksellers, will be available throughout the month October.
The Richard Bertinet Kitchen Cookery School (and guests)
After learning to make bread with French baker, Richard Bertinet, converts will never again buy mass-produced loaves with a clear conscience.
Partnered with Waitrose, who supply his bread throughout the UK, Richard will head a line-up of suppliers at a ‘teach-in’ evening in October.
Special guests will include Ben Tish from the Salt Yard group – a star of the London restaurant scene – and Dhru Baker, author of “Spice”.
Beer and Buildings
Created by The Campaign for Real Ale and RIBA, “Beer and Buildings” is a walking tour of Bath with a difference; it shows the finest hostelries across the city, some dating to when Bath bustled with historic and unusual coaching inns. Visit fifteen of Bath’s most interesting pubs, from historic gems such as The Bell to pubs with a contemporary interior such as Colonna and Hunter. Explore Bath’s beer culture from a truly unique perspective.
A Grand Wine Tasting
Great Western Wine brings its suppliers to Bath for a popular grand tasting at the impressive Assembly Rooms, with a portfolio tasting from over 100 boutique wineries from across the world and the South West of England. Learn how to spit and slurp with the best of them!
Green Park Station in Bath is home to the UK’s very first Farmers’ Market, a thriving weekly market selling fresh local and regional produce.
Fledgling foodie businesses include Green Park’s Urban Mushroom Farm, Fungi Fruits, where mushrooms are cultivated below ground in a surreal environment thanks to the recycled and discarded coffee grounds from coffee shops and various eateries across Bath.
Apple Fest With A Vintage Twist of Nostalgia
Green Park Brasserie will be celebrating Apple Day with a Friday night Cider and Apple Festival with a penchant for all things apple and cider based.
Kitchenalia by Bath VA will also be presenting a nostalgic fair dedicated to vintage kitchen paraphernalia including china, moulds, glassware and furniture.
Hartley Farm Teepees
Queen Square becomes the hub of the Great Bath Feast with the Hartley Farm Teepees. Meet the producer, butchery demos, and cooking with their famous Big Green Eggs.
